Mrs. Ambrose holds a B.Sc. Degree in Economics and Accounting and a M.Sc. Degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI) received in October, 1999 and 2002, respectively. Mrs. Ambrose also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Heriot Watt University and is a doctoral student specialising in financial management with the same institution. Additionally, she has completed a graduate diploma in Instructional Design from the University of the West Indies, Open Campus. Finally, Mrs. Ambrose is certified to manage and facilitate online instruction by the Commonwealth of Learning in conjunction with the University of the West Indies, Open Campus.
She has been involved in education, since 1999, in various capacities (teaching, instructional design, student advising and assessment) in Barbados and the Virgin Islands. Additionally, Mrs. Ambrose has presented academic papers at international conferences across the globe, including: Canada; Taiwan; the Virgin Islands; South Korea; Barbados; Florida; San Juan and Denmark. She has also published research in the areas of environmental economics, environmental accounting, globalisation, small businesses,regional economics and integration and agriculture.
She contributes to the VI Standpoint Newspaper column entitled, Politics and the Economy”. Her other academic interests are within the areas of global financial management, regional economics and integration, small business, and small islands’ studies.
Dana Lewis-Ambrose is the proud mother of D’André and Daniella Ambrose and wife of Derick E. Ambrose. She also serves as a Lay Minister at the St. George's Episcopal (Anglican) Church in the Virgin Islands. In her words, “God is indeed the cornerstone of my life and it is my intention to use the gifts that he has given me for the building up of his kingdom”.
